New York Yankees Helmet Phone
36.66 $
Description
New York Yankees helmet-shaped telephone. It also features a golden glove on a wooden base. The color is the traditional Yankees navy.
I purchased this some time ago during a business trip to New York at a store called Phone Booth (photo 9) in Manhattan. I chose this one after deliberating between it and an American football-shaped telephone.
Soon after, cordless phones and mobile phones became dominant, and it became a decorative item at home. As you can see in the photos, it has some sun fading, but it is still functional for calls. I believe it can still be useful as a store display or a practical item.
I kept it because of the memory of a snatch-and-grab incident as I was leaving the store, where the owner helped me, but I will be parting with it.
