In 1935, Albert fulfilled his promise to visit his childhood friend Ahmed and decided to realize one of his dreams at the same time.
Albert was fascinated by ancient Egyptian culture, and while visiting his friend in Egypt, he was able to enjoy long tours of the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Temples of Luxor, and the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut.
For Albert Fouquet, this visit was also an opportunity to travel to the birthplace of perfumery. He wanted to study the essences used for thousands of years. He was also interested in the contents of highly fragrant pots dedicated to the gods to protect the pharaohs, and the scents used to satisfy the revered Cleopatra. This wonderful visit was further enriched from the moment Albert crossed the threshold of Ahmed's home. Dozens of flowers unknown to Albert bloomed in the impressive gardens of his villa.
Overwhelmed by the new sensations, and unable to extend his already long stay, Albert planned a second trip four months later with the clear objective of finding a unique perfume.
After several weeks of intensive work at Ahmed's villa, Albert Fouquet refined the final details of the new formula upon returning to his chateau in Paris. Egypt became part of his exclusive and private perfume collection.
