Vintage Lenox Athenian Vase | Neoclassical Acanthus & Palmette Relief

This vintage Lenox Athenian Medium Vase is finished in Lenox’s signature creamy white, high-gloss porcelain, accented with a gilt rim and gilt base band. The form and decoration draw directly from classical Greek and Neoclassical design, a hallmark of Lenox’s Athenian Collection.  The body features a band of stylized acanthus leaves—a traditional Greek architectural motif associated with Corinthian columns—interspersed with anthemion (palmette) forms and scrolling volutes. Between the leaf groupings are elongated vertical stems, giving the decoration a rhythmic, column-like structure reminiscent of carved stonework.  Below and above the central relief band, the surface transitions into ribbed, gadrooned contours with teardrop-shaped fluting cascading around the body, reinforcing the classical pillar influence. The overall silhouette is urn-like and architectural, balanced by Lenox’s refined porcelain finish.  Marked on the base Lenox – Made in USA, with original Lenox China label present.
